Ready For Work (RFW) Program has two distant tracks:

1.) Core Ready for Work which is an 8-weeks job readiness course

2.) Acceleration to Employment for jobseekers with recent work experience, a certification, or a degree who are ready to start working in 3–4 weeks.

Track #1 Core Ready For Work: Empowering People for Meaningful Careers

Ready For Work (RFW) is a transformative 8-week workforce development program offered by Housing Works, designed specifically for individuals living with chronic illnesses. This program equips participants with the tools, training, and confidence to pursue sustainable employment and personal success.

What the Program Offers

Participants engage in:

🧠 4 Weeks of Classroom Instruction, covering:

• Workforce Development (Interviewing, Resumes, Cover Letters)
• Computer Literacy
• Health & Wellness
• Benefits & Financial Planning
• Weekly One-on-One Job Counseling
• Certification Opportunities:
  • OSHA 30
  • Flagger Certification
  • Microsoft Suite Certification
  • Home Health Aide (referral-based)

🔧 4 Weeks of Internship
A 20-hour-per-week unpaid internship provides hands-on experience and real-world application of classroom learning.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be actively engaged in Case Management for at least 3 months
• Be referred by their Case Management Program

AND meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Be HASA Eligible (HIV+)
• Be an Active SNAP Recipient

Employment & Retention Bonus: Earn While You Learn and Grow:

💼 $500 upon securing a job (with hire letter & pay stubs)
📅 $500 after 30 days of continuous employment
📅 $1,000 after 90 days of continuous employment

Ready For Work Acceleration Application

This application is for individuals interested in our Accelerated Job Readiness Program. This fast-track option is designed for those who are ready to move quickly into the workforce. Over the course of 3 - 4 weeks, you’ll focus on essential job readiness skills, condensed training, and rapid placement support.

This application will be reviewed to determine eligibility for the accelerated program. You may be referred to the Core Ready For Work job readiness program after an initial assessment.

• Security Guard if you already have a current license
