HOUSING WORKS ANNOUNCES LINE-UP FOR FASHION FOR ACTION ANNUAL BENEFIT


New York, New York - On November 16, 2017, nonprofit organization Housing Works will host

their 14th annual Fashion for Action benefit event, which will bring together iconic individuals

who will lend their talent, style, and support for an evening of crucial fundraising. Guests will

have the opportunity to mingle with VIPs, while sipping cocktails and shopping nearly $2 million

in donated merchandise, all marked 50-70% off retail. The shopping party will take place at

Housing Works’ flagship shop in Chelsea, with a VIP cocktail hour at Freds in Barneys Downtown.

Hosting the evening will be Paper Magazine, Editorial Director: Mickey Boardman and Co-host

of Page Six Tv, Host of Sirius XM's "Bevelations," Bevy Smith. Joining the two hosts as Co-

Chairs are Patricia Field, Eric Javits, Alex Olson and Todd Snyder. Kevin Harter, Vice

President of Fashion Direction, Bloomingdale’s and Michael Carl Fashion Director, Vanity Fair

serve as Founding Chairs. Music will be provided by DJ Louie XIV.

“Our company has been supporting Housing Works and their amazing community programs for

several years. However, in troubling times like these, we need to lend our full support to the

ones closest to us in our communities, I’m proud to step up and chair the Fashion for Action

event this year!” said Todd Snyder, event Co-Chair and featured Closet Curator.

Featured Closet Curators include; fashion designer, Mara Hoffman; celebrity DJ and actor, Mia

Moretti; professional skateboarder and Founder of Bianca Chandon, Alex Olson; founder of

personal style blog “Le-Happy”, Luanna Perez-Garreaud; style curator and event producer,

Natalie Kates; Aerie real model, social and fashion icon, Iskra Lawrence; and, American fashion

designer, Todd Snyder. Each closet curator will have a dedicated “closet space” in which

they’ve curated a collection of clothing and accessories that reflect their personal style and

brand. All merchandise in the closets will be for sale to benefit Housing Works.

Over 200 brands have donated to the event, from men’s and women's apparel to shoes,

handbags, jewelry and accessories. The brands include; Bianca Chandon, Carmen Marc Valvo,

Coclico, Creatures of Comfort, Eric Javitz, Everlane, Hudson Bay, Manolo Blahnik, Mark Cross,

Michael Kors, Opening Ceremony, Robert Clergerie, Simon Miller, Vince and more.

Proceeds from Fashion for Action support Housing Works’ mission to end the dual crises of

homelessness and AIDS. The organization provides thousands of New Yorkers with lifesaving

health services and housing. They are heavily involved with advocacy efforts to ensure social

justice and healthcare for Americans in need.

Fashion for Action began in 2004 with founding chair Andre Leon Talley and the late Natasha

Richardson at the helm. Past event chairs have also included Thom Browne, Patricia Clarkson,

Francisco Costa, Dree Hemingway, Marc Jacobs, Natalie Joos, Derek Lam and Rachel Roy. Together

with the support of the fashion and beauty community, the benefit has grown to raise over $5

million towards the fight against HIV/AIDS in New York City.
