Design on a Dime

Every year, the Groundbreaker Awards Dinner precedes and kicks-off its sister fundraising event, Design on a Dime: Housing Works’ annual 3-day décor shopping festival (April 25 – 27, 2024 – the Metropolitan Pavilion).

Design on a Dime is a signature cause of the design and home industries where the full complement of both converge to bring the event spectacularly to life. Founded in 2005 by renown interior designer James “Ford” Huniford, every April Design on a Dime convenes the volunteered time, talent and treasure of 50+ leading interior designers and home brands, all who combine to create a fleet of individual magical model room “vignettes.” Each vignette is stunningly decorated with choice donated décor and home furnishings; thousands of design gems in the aggregate. Following an exclusive fundraising preview, the vignettes suddenly transform into fundraising shops where everything is sold at 50-80% off to benefit Housing Works Mission.
