Cannabis + Creativity is a captivating short documentary that delves into the lives of six creative individuals who harness the power of cannabis to fuel their artistic expression. Through intimate interviews and behind-the-scenes glimpses into their creative processes, viewers are invited to explore the profound connection between cannabis and inspiration. From composers to musicians, poets and designers, each participant shares their unique perspective on how this plant has become an indispensable tool in their creative toolkit. However, amidst this exploration, the documentary introduces an unexpected contrast: a skeptical grandmother who represents the generational divide on cannabis use. Her thoughtful skepticism provides a thought-provoking counterpoint to the enthusiastic creatives, sparking a lively and insightful conversation about the role of cannabis in the world of art and innovation. Cannabis + Creativity offers a nuanced and eye-opening exploration of the intersection between cannabis and creativity while shedding light on the broader societal conversation surrounding its use.

Elana Frankel is the founding editor in chief of Women and Weed magazine and author of the book Women and Weed. She produced and directed the short documentary Cannabis + Creativity and consults as an advisor, creative director and activist in the cannabis community.
