Side Event to the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Ending AIDS to Address Exclusion of Civil Society Organizations Tuesday, June 7, 2016 1pm-3pm East River Room, Ford Foundation (320 East 43rd Street, New York, NY) Rally & Press Conference to follow

New York, NY. Twenty-two civil society organizations on five continents that provide services for LGBT communities, drug users, and other marginalized populations have been excluded from the 2016 United Nations High-Level Meeting (HLM) on Ending AIDS by an anonymous veto from a UN member state. To address this situation, a coalition of allies, including Housing Works, ICASO, Pangea GlobalAIDS, Coalition for Vulnerable Communities (CVC), African Services Committee,EANNASO, GNP+, and MSM Global Forum, are organizing a side event, “*The Impact of Civil Society Exclusion on Ending the AIDS Epidemic by 2030*,” to shed light on the harm done by omitting LGBT communities, drug users, and other marginalized populations from international efforts to end the AIDS epidemic.
