It's the most wonderful time of the year! This Saturday 16th, please join us for the eighth annual marathon reading of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol, sponsored by Penguin Classics.

The event kicks off at noon with caroling from the New York City Master Chorale. Settle in with a hot cocoa or mulled wine and get comfy for the readings, which begin at 1PM. National Book Award finalist Min Jin Lee will begin proceedings, followed by (deep breath) Glory Edim, Rakesh Saytal, Hannah Tinti, Scott Adsit, Mike Albo, Sandra Bauleo, Alice Sola Kim, Isaac Fitzgerald, Jill Hennessy, Sarah Weinman, Helen Rosner, Marcy Dermansky, Parul Sehgal, Angela Flournoy, Alexander Chee, Tea Obreht, Vinson Cunningham, Josh Gondelman, Simeon Marsalis, Jami Attenberg, J. Courtney Sullivan, Rosie Schaap, Maris Kreizman, Lisa Lucas, Jason Diamond, Megan Abbott, Elissa Schappell, Rob Spillman, Doreen St. Felix, and Rachel Fershleiser! Readings will end by 4:15.

We'll have special snacks to keep you satiated, Dickens books for sale generously provided by Penguin Classics, and 10% off store-wide. This is a great opportunity to get some holiday shopping done, and save yourself time by taking advantage of our gift wrapping service.
