DONATE BOOKS
100% of our books, records, CD's and DVD's are donated. Publishers and reviewers often donate new books, but we also depend heavily on customer donations. Donations can be brought into the bookstore during regular hours. All donations are tax deductible and we will provide you with the proper tax form. We occasionally schedule pickups for large donations. If you are interested in scheduling a pick-up, please send us an email with the basic information on your books (location, size of donation, type of books) and we'll get back to you promptly. Please note, we are no longer able to reimburse for taxi receipts.

DONATION GUIDELINES:
Our bookstore accepts gently used books, CD's, records and DVD's. Please read our donation guidelines carefully before bringing anything to the store. We accept donations anytime we are open, but suggest that you call before you bring anything to us. We often close early for special events and rentals.

All donations are tax-deductible. All books should be in saleable condition. We do not accept books with markings, heavy wear, water damage, missing pages or covers, mildew, or strong odors. Books with light wear — in "used book" condition — are fine. We do not accept cassettes, magazines or periodicals, encyclopedias, dated material including travel books, business books, and computer books more than a year old. Larger donations should be neatly packed in boxes of manageable size. Please contact us via email at bookstore@housingworks.org if you have any questions about donations.

SHIP US BOOKS
Thanks to generous people like you, we are overwhelmed with donations right now. We would love to receive your book and CD donations, but we are no longer able to offer our free post office shipping program to the general public. We do accept donations that are dropped off at our store, sent through the post office, or any other service (UPS, etc.) We hope to resume the program some time in the future.

If you have very large donation, or something that you think may be truly special, please contact us by email at bookstore@housingworks.org, and we will work to accommodate.
