Housing Works Thrift Shops Fifth-Annual Design on a Dime interior design charity shopping extravaganza is just two weeks away! Created by Design on a Dime cochair James Huniford, of Huniford Design Studio, Design on a Dime has raised $2 million for Housing Works, Inc., New York’s largest AIDS service organization. Last year alone Design on a Dime raised $650,000 for Housing Works.
Design on a Dime will help provide funding for projects such as Housing Works’ recently opened congregate living facility, Stand Up Harlem House. Housing Works renovated three classic Harlem brownstones to create the residence, which now provides 16 apartments to homeless and low-income individuals and families affected by HIV and AIDS.
