The Museum of Emotions: A Night with Bill Hayward & The Coffin Factory

Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 7:00pm

Join us for an experience in The Museum of Emotions as we bring scenes from Bill Hayward's film asphalt, muscle and bone to life. Laura Isaacman, editor of The Coffin Factory, discusses art, literature, and film with Bill Hayward, whose photographs are the main art feature in issue four of The Coffin Factory.

Photographer and filmmaker Bill Hayward has photographed for numerous national magazines, and his portrait subjects have ranged from Bob Dylan to President Reagan. His work has been exhibited in film festivals, galleries, and museums throughout the country and Europe.

His most recent book, Bad Behavior, is a collection of his portraits of the collaborative-self of artists, actors, dancers, writers, poets, and musicians. Hayward is currently working on a multi-media art project entitled Unexpected Truths, “an ongoing series of films, books, music, and a traveling exhibition that address stories of frustration, joy, and lust…the dilemmas of human existence and the persistence of beauty.” Part of this art project is The Museum of Emotions from his film: asphalt, muscle and bone. It is in The Museum Store where The Coffin Factory found Hayward’s postcards from The Museum of Emotions, which is the main art feature in our current issue.
