Live From Home With Hayes Carll and Kate Jacobs
Tuesday, February 15 at 8:00pm
Texas singer-songwriter Hayes Carll plays a benefit show to celebrate his new Lost Highway release KMAG YOYO (a military acronym which stands for Kiss My Ass Guys You’re On Your Own), which was produced by Brad Jones and is the follow-up to Carll’s critically acclaimed label debut, Trouble In Mind (2008), which Jones also produced.
Carll’s previous Lost Highway release, Trouble In Mind, received widespread critical acclaim, topping “Year End” lists at Esquire, the Los Angeles Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, American Songwriter, Newsday and the Nashville Scene. Additionally, Carll’s song “She Left Me For Jesus” won the 2008 Americana Music Award for “Song of the Year” and Don Imus called it the “greatest country song ever.” Moreover, this past September, Carll won the Americana Music Award for “New/Emerging Artist of the Year” and was recently featured on the lauded PBS concert series Austin City Limits.
With an opening set by Kate Jacobs, who just released Home Game, an album of intense country, soul, and jazz inflected pop songs that reflect incisively, with wry humor and pathos, on domestic affairs (of kitchen, bedroom and playground, that is).
Tickets are $15 and guarantee admission but not seating, which is limited.
