Live From Home Concert with Rhett Miller and Jill Hennessy

Monday, December 7 , 2009 at 11:00pm

A concert starring Rhett Miller and Jill Hennessey.

Rhett Miller is the front man and main songwriter of the hard-charging rock ‘n’ roll quartet the Old 97’s, as well as an accomplished solo artist. In addition to his seven records with the band, he has released three highly regarded solo records; 2002’s The Instigator, 2006’s The Believer, and 2009’s self-titled Rhett Miller. Miller continues to balance his solo endeavors with his membership in the Old 97’s. The still-active quartet recently released the critically acclaimed album Blame It On Gravity in 2008 and were also prominently featured in the Jennifer Aniston/Vince Vaugn romantic comedy, The Break Up. Rolling Stone magazine stated that Rhett “is full of gracefully rocking arrangements and ace tunes.”

Though perhaps best-known as an actress for her starring roles in the hit television series “Law & Order” and “Crossing Jordan,” Jill Hennessy began her show business career as a musician, busking in the streets of Toronto. Jill wrote the songs comprising her debut album Ghost In My Head in a particularly prolific period from 2005-2007. Dave Marsh from Sirius XM Radio wrote “Ghost In My Head would be an impressive achievement if it came from someone who’d made a lot of records. As a debut, it’s startling—the bold singing, the edgy arrangements, the precisely phrased lyrics, the unflinching stories that gaze with equal insight upon beleaguered strangers and the people she loves best. These songs feel to me like the work of an artist who sees life whole: tragedy in a phone booth, beauty in the scars”.

Admission guarantees entry but not seating, which is limited and first come first serve. Beer, wine, and snacks will be available for purchase.
