Tuesday, October 12 , 2010 at 7:00pm

Beloved musician Ben Folds and acclaimed author Nick Hornby co-headline Liner Notes, a benefit series exploring the cross-pollination of music and literature. Presented by SPIN, the event will also celebrate the release of Hornby and Folds’ collaborative album, Lonely Avenue. The Liner Notes series has brought you Salman Rushdie accompanied by prog rock and Neil Gaiman’s first public admission he’s dating Amanda Palmer. Don’t miss this intimate evening with live music by Ben Folds, readings, by Nick Hornby, and plenty of time for discussion and a no-holds-barred Q&A, moderated by Spin’s deputy editor Steve Kandell.

“I felt like I’d found something rare on eBay,” says Folds. “Nick should have done it before but it’s his first big effort and I feel like I really scored here. He’s the person who makes you feel the goose bumps at the chorus and you don’t know why.”

“At this stage in my career, I want to collaborate with all the talented people I can find, and I’ve always been a big fan of Ben Folds’ music,” Hornby says of working with Folds. “It’s been a real privilege to watch and listen to Ben at work, and I’ve learned a lot about how proper songwriters like Ben think.”
