Todd Black established T W Black Inc in 2000, a full service interior design firm based in New York. Whether a Moroccan palace in Key West, a classic Park Avenue apartment, or a weekend beach house, Black works closely with the client and all other parties involved: architect, landscaper, decorative artist, to realize a coherent vision. Known for a highly edited, eclectic mix of elements, the design process is always a collaboration between client and designer.
With a graduate degree in the History of European Decorative Arts from the Copper Hewitt Museum, Black slips easily between centuries depending on the specific aesthetic of the project. Creating both a beautiful interior, but also an enjoyable experience for the client, is paramount to the process.

Black has also been named to House Beautiful’s list of the top 100 designers in America.
Thu Do Design offers professional interior design and consultation services, ranging from construction renovation to all aspects of interior decoration including custom furniture and furnishings. Prior to establishing my New York City Soho-based office, I worked as a lead designer at the offices of renowned architects, Alan Wanzenberg and Robert A.M. Stern. With more than fifteen years of experience, I am able to walk clients through each step of the process to ultimately execute their design dreams.
As a Vietnamese-born Texas-raised designer, I bring a fresh global approach to creating unique living environments for clients of various styles and budgets. My goal is to offer honest design and design integrity by combining high craftsmanship with natural materials, and a relentless eye for detail. This results in timeless interiors, meant to influence, enrich and simplify one’s life. Each space looks as though it came together effortlessly, never overdone.
As a curious explorer, both my travels to exotic places around the world and my fascination with nature, inspire and influence my method of blending different design styles, integrating the classic with the modern, traditional with ethnic. My passion for residential design and the decorative arts and my belief in the transcendent power of design drive me to create finished interiors that are instantaneously classic and become even more valuable over time.
