Raised in Austin, Texas and Mexico with a Masters of Fine Art from the University of Illinois Chicago and a BFA from The School of the Art Institute, Juniper Tedhams’ design work has been equally influenced by nearly fifteen years in the antiques business. Early work with an architectural restoration firm and numerous antiques dealers in Chicago and London honed a keen eye for architectural purity and a deep understanding of the importance of balance in good design.
In 2000, she opened a shop in New York under her own name focusing primarily on 18th and 19th century English furniture, mixing in important modernist pieces as well as her own designs. The unexpected arrangements and rigorous commitment to quality attracted a loyal following of architects, stylists and interior designers.
After working directly with a handful of clients to furnish their homes, she closed the doors of the shop to focus exclusively on residential interiors. Her work has been noted for its diverse stylistic vocabulary, which draws upon a broad array of sources to create simple, focused interiors with an emphasis on strong classical design, and subtle luxury. Completed projects include homes in New York, London, Dallas, Austin, Chicago and Bar Harbor.
Her work has appeared in House Beautiful, Martha Stewart Living, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, Real Simple and Traditional Home.
