Housing Works hosts hundreds of events per year, from star-studded concerts and fashion galas to Thanksgiving dinners for homeless clients that may not otherwise get a holiday meal.

    Monday, March 15 at 7:00pm at Bookstore Cafe

    Join The Daily Beast’s Dana Goldstein, the Nation Institute Investigative Fund’s Gabriel Thompson, and Mother Jones’ Mac McClelland for Writing on Human Rights, a reading, discussion, and Q&A about the cruciality and challenges of human rights coverage. McClelland, author of For Us Surrender Is Out of the Question: A Story from Burma’s Never-Ending War, and Thompson, author of Working in the Shadows: A Year of Doing the Jobs (Most) Americans Won’t Do, will also be available to sign books.

    Housing Works Playhouse Presents Jeremy Plays Guitar

    Sunday, March 21 at 11:00am at Bookstore Cafe

    Jeremy Plays Guitar is a high-energy, fun kid’s band with music that secretly gives kids words to navigate their world. Led by award-winning guitarist Jeremy Zmuda with singer Joy Dragland, bassist Alan Hampton, Drummer Leo Sidran and Percussionist Rich Stein, Jeremy Plays Guitar really speaks to kids while jumping, dancing, singing, and, yes, playing guitar! From singing about taking the subway or catching a taxi to taking turns and making mistakes, Jeremy Plays Guitar will have kids and grownups playing along.
