Design On A Dime Brooklyn Outpost

Julien has been excited by space his whole life. Having been reared by people who appreciated the built environment he learned early on to analyze floor plans and imagine the life stories that would take place within a set of walls, whether a nightclub, a residential or a commercial space. He loved architecture but found that interior volumes interested him most.

Having realized his talent Julien got a degree in Interior Design in his hometown of Lexington, Kentucky and then moved to New York City to study lighting at Parsons. He interned at the world’s biggest interior design firm, Gensler and then spent almost a decade devoted to a trade-only custom lighting atelier, MODULIGHTOR, where he still maintains a relationship. There he collaborated with the top interior designers, architects, and lighting designers in the city as well as their amazing clients, the end-users.

Through Julien’s passion for photography he’s developed a ‘third eye’ allowing for a deeper understanding of design. His photographic explorations into pattern-making have infused new energy into his current sense of style, resulting in wallpapers, textiles, and garments.

Julien says that the joy of being a creative person is having the ability to share his skills, talent, background, education, professional experience and endless enthusiasm to make the world a more fabulous place. HOUSE of JULIEN
