On Thursday, June 9th, Housing Works was honored to host Her Serene Highness Princess Stephanie of Monaco at the East New York Community Health Center for an afternoon tour and impactful discussion.

There was an enthusiastic welcome at the lobby of the East New York Community Health Center where Housing Works’ CEO Charles King along with residents, staff and clients greeted Princess Stephanie. The tour began in the medical clinic, continued with a viewing of a resident’s apartment, and ended with a powerful and intimate discussion between Princess Stephanie and several Housing Works’ clients. The clients shared their personal stories of living with HIV/AIDS and their history with the organization, giving Princess Stephanie an inside look at the significant impact Housing Works makes each day in the fight to end AIDS and in the lives of over 5,000 New Yorkers.

This visit marks Princess Stephanie’s second visit to Housing Works, as she visited the Cylar House in 2006. A longtime activist and philanthropist, Princess Stephanie has been the President of ‘Fight AIDS Monaco’ since 2004. The organization has three main focus areas: information, prevention and support to people living with and affected by HIV. She has also been a Monaco UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador since 2006.
