Wimbledon on the Hudson

Special thanks to all the members, donors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, and tennis players and spectators who helped make the first annual Wimbledon on the Hudson a huge success! And congratulations to our Champion, Stuart Framm, and our Runner-Up, Daryl Fox!
On Monday, June 14, 2010, 17 tennis players came together at the Roosevelt Island Racquet Club to compete in Housing Works’ first-ever tennis tournament fundraiser. It proved to be a fun-filled evening of exciting round-robin doubles play, raffle prizes, special awards, and champagne and strawberries – and all for a lifesaving cause: more than $5K (and counting…!) was raised to support Housing Works’ services for homeless and low-income people living with HIV/AIDS, in New York and beyond.

Team Housing Works is looking for new members to run with us and raise money to fight AIDS and homelessness via participation in upcoming races.
Various members of Team Housing Works recently ran in the May 22, 2010 Brooklyn Half-Marathon to raise money for Housing Works’ trip to the XVIII International AIDS Conference, July 18-23, 2010 in Vienna, Austria, where the Housing Works contingent will demand housing for homeless people living with HIV/AIDS the world over.
We are currently exploring our options for participation in other upcoming races in 2010 and 2011 – more updates coming soon!
