Charls King: Shear Madness, Blog Post No. 1
Hi everyone!
Yes, it’s true. I am saying goodbye to my ponytail. Will I still command respect without it? What will I play with during meetings? Will my trademark black cowboy hat look just plain ordinary without the ponytail? So many questions to sort out. (As an ordained Baptist minister, I will certainly have to look to the story of Samson for guidance).
I will begin a blog with probing psychological insights into letting someone, possibly a total stranger, snip off the very touchstone of my identity, starting on February 18. In the meantime, I encourage you to purchase tickets to “Shear Madness,” where I will be shorn; and bid to be the one to cut my hair off; as well as bid on what new hairstyle I will sport afterwards.
All the profits go to AIDS activists in Haiti who are trying to rebuild that country’s devastated AIDS services network. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Love,
Charles
