Changes Are Coming
Key Changes by September 1
The 10% member discount will be discontinued at the Thrift Shops and on shophousingworks.com, but will continue at the Bookstore Cafe. Instead, for Advocate and above members, the Thrift Shops will offer 30% off when signing-up in-store and special discount days/months periodically throughout the year, both in stores and online.
When signing-up in-store, customers will no longer be able to choose monthly payments, but this option will continue online. The only way to sign-up in-store will be by paying the full annual amount at the register.

New York’s most design-forward address is 540 West 28th Street for two more weekends this spring as ELLE DECOR presents the Modern Life Concept House with partner LX.TV Open House. Located between 10th and 11th Avenues, the Concept House features 10 designers who have partnered with leading brands to create dazzling indoor and outdoor spaces that offer a fresh approach to contemporary living.
The Concept House is open to the public for two more weekends: May 27, 28, 29, 30 and June 3, 4, 5. Visiting hours are 10am-4pm.
Admission is $30. Proceeds benefit Housing Works.

Labor of Love - A Labor Day Weekend Benefit for Housing Works
Now in its second year, Labor of Love is fast becoming the season-ending event of the summer. An ocean-front pool party featuring live performances and the hottest DJs, the event benefits Housing Works and its Brooklyn-based outreach program targeting homeless youth living with HIV or at risk of infection.
When: Saturday, September 3, 1:30-5pm, rain or shine.
Where: Fire Island Pines

Team Housing Works

Congratulations to all of the Team Housing Works runners who completed the 2011 NYC Half-Marathon and raised $40,000 (and counting…!) in support of Housing Works’ services to fight AIDS and homelessness.
