Austin Smith Joins Team Housing Works
Tennis pro Austin Smith, daughter of tennis legend Stan Smith, has joined Team Housing Works for Uptown, Down Under, our second annual Australian Open inspired tennis tournament fundraiser at Roosevelt Island Racquet Club on Monday, January 23, 2012, 6-9pm. She will hit with the top fundraiser and offer pointers to improve your game! Fundraising supports Housing Works’ advocacy efforts to fight homelessness and AIDS.

Each quarter, Book Riot donates 2% of its gross revenue to one charity. After being nominated and selected as one of five finalists to receive this donation this quarter, Housing Works won more than 50% of the votes during the November 22nd through December 5th period of public voting on bookriot.com. Therefore, with this strong majority of votes, we are pleased to announce that Housing Works has been officially chosen as Book Riot’s first-ever “We Practice Charity” Beneficiary.
