Spring at Housing Works Bookstore: Lapham’s Quarterly, Tumblr, Sasha Grey, and Foodie Fun
Here at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, we’re crossing our fingers for Spring while springboarding the launches of great new work. Sasha Grey, icon and sexual provocateur, will be here to launch her new photography book Neu Sex at a VICE-hosted party and a candid discussion with Stereogum’s Brandon Stosuy. Lewis Lapham will be here to launch the latest issue of Lapham’s Quarterly, featuring contributions by Franz Kafka, Gloria Steinem, Geoffrey Chaucer, David Mamet, and Herman Melville. The Moth StorySLAM might even launch you into storytelling superstardom! We’re also planning to fill your brain with visual art and human rights and your belly with food by some of the most exceptional chefs in New York. Show your support for Housing Works and buy your …

March at Housing Works Bookstore: Music, Film, Dance, Tumblr, Lapham’s Quarterly, and Amazing Food.
Spring has sprung (maybe?) and we’re celebrating here at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe (definitely!). We’re welcoming filmmakers, singers, dancers, painters, human rights crusaders, photographers, bloggers, comedians, and a veritable bevy of zine fanatics. Lewis Lapham will talk about his crummiest day job. Mike Albo will talk about Jane Eyre. You will talk about how amazing it is that you’re having a great time drinking beers at a killer party yet you’re helping homeless people living with HIV at the very same time.
Want to help more? Treat yourself to a ticket to A Taste of Home and enjoy gin cocktails and food by some of the best chefs New York City has to offer. Rough life being an activist, eh?

January at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe: Art, Theater, Film, Philanthropy, Storytelling, and more!
We like books and everything, but sometimes it feels great to be a well-rounded cultural center. This month we’re proud to present a staged theater piece, a short from Sundance, even a panel on painting with live music! We’d also love to see you for classic literary readings and live storytelling, of course.
Plus, now you can buy all your books from Housing Works Bookstore Cafe – no matter where you live. Search for any book at shophousingworks.com. Low prices and free shipping on every book we stock! Even if we don’t have it, we’ll send you to an Amazon.com page where your purchase still supports Housing Works.
