Breaking news coming out of Albany about the New York State budget.
While the state’s public health programs were protected and won’t be thrown into six “buckets” where they would compete for different funds, they were only restored at 50%, which means that the AIDS Institute is facing a 5.5% cut.
The NY Senate reconvenes tomorrow at 5pm, and are planning to vote on the budget on Wednesday. The Assembly will return to Albany on Thursday to vote. You can read the State Operations Budget legislation State Operations Budget here.
Stay tuned for updates.
