Fighting for Healthcare Reform

Gov. David Paterson has proposed smart health care reforms that would save New Yorkers $2.4 billion, while actually expanding Medicaid eligibility and bringing health care to the New York’s poor communities, which are disproportionately hit by childhood obesity, AIDS, asthma, diabetes and other preventable diseases.

The Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYNHA) and the hospital workers’ union 1199 are fighting these changes with a misleading multi-million dollar ad campaign. On a much leaner budget, Housing Works is fighting back to set the record straight.
