Show us some love at our Valentine’s Day themed transgender fashion show! Just a $15 donation at the door gets you access to fabulous fashions hosted by Tyra A. Ross with make-up by Jewel Gainey & co. Enjoy an appearance by Karen Covergirl of Esquelita Nightclub, boutique shopping, a raffle of high-end merchandise, and wine and hors d’oeurvres from the Works Catering. Proceeds will benefit Transcend: Transgender Empowerment Group.

The Housing Works welcome wagon is coming to a neighborhood near you! Just in time for your 2009 tax forms, we are accepting donations of fashionable clothes or boxed housewares. This festive, all-day shopping bazaar takes place on the quaint (closed to traffic) cobblestone Crosby Street outside of our Bookstore Café and thrift shop and features tens of thousands of $1 books, CDs, and $20 bags of all-you-can-stuff clothing from Housing Works Thrift Shops. Sliders and sweets from The Works. and beer from Puck Fair will be served! Also, don’t miss the rare and vintage book auction if you’re a collector. June 6th, from 10am-4pm
